On the 1st April 2013 it has been announced that the NHS dental charges will change as follows
The dental charge payable for a band one course of treatment will increase by 50p from £17.50 to £18.This covers an examination, diagnosis (e.g. x-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, and a scale and polish if needed. Urgent treatment is also charged at this rate.
The dental charge for a band 2 course of treatment will increase by £1 from £48 to £49.This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or if your dentist needs to take out one or more of your teeth.
The charge for a band 3 course of treatment will increase by £5 from £209 to £214.This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures or bridges.
